The company is committed to making a significant difference in the world by transforming buildings from passive structures into adaptive, responsive, and intelligent systems.
The company was founded by Mahdy A. Hamada, who holds a Doctor of Philosophy and a Masters of Engineering Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering. With over 16 years of national and international experience in consulting, teaching, and research in structure engineering analysis and design, Mahdy has consulted on major projects in Canada, USA, Middle East, and Far East.
IE Design is an innovative structural engineering firm that strives to provide innovative, state-of-the-art, economical service to every client, regardless of the complexity, scale, or type of projects. They have worked on many commercial, industrial, and mid and high-rise buildings over the past 16 years, with more than 40 years of combined experience.
In addition to his role at IE Design, Mahdy is an Adjunct Research Professor and Assistant Professor LDA at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Western Ontario, Canada. His research interests include Structural and Wind Engineering, Fluid-Structure Interaction, Heavy Timber and Light-Framed Wood Structures, and Artificial Intelligence in Structural Engineering.
